Cold weather shelters open in South Mississippi as temperatures drop
BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – Cold weather is moving into South Mississippi, prompting shelters to open Tuesday, December 2, for those in need.
The WLOX First Alert weather team said temperatures will drop into the low to mid 30s by Wednesday morning.
Harrison County
- Kenny Fournier Multipurpose Center in D’Iberville (10395 Automall Parkway) opens at 4:30 p.m.
- Call Coast Transit Authority at 228-896-8080 for transportation assistance
Pearl River County
- Poplarville Community Saferoom (124 Rodeo Street) opens at 5 p.m.
- Pets are not allowed
- Bring anything you may need (food, water, etc.)
During the cold blast, remember the importance of protecting the “Four P’s” – people, pets, plants, and pipes.
