COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Rain will be widespread and heavy at times on Friday, prompting another First Alert Weather Day.

First Alert Summary
Good morning! After widespread rain yesterday, we’ve got a brief break in chances for rain. The cloud cover from this morning will take a while to clear out. By this afternoon, we’ll be partly to mostly cloudy, with high temperatures in the low-50s.

Another coastal low is developing in the Gulf and headed our way. By Friday, rain becomes widespread and will be heavy at times, prompting us to issue a First Alert Weather Day.

This widespread rain has the chance to bring us another 1-2 inches of rain. It will be cloudy and cold because of the rain, with high temperatures only in the 40s.

We’re watching the weekend forecast closely with the annual Carolina Carillon parade Saturday morning. Showers are set to linger throughout the weekend, especially on Saturday. It’ll remain cold, with highs in the upper-40s and low-50s.

Today: A cloudy sky this morning, then partly to mostly cloudy this afternoon. Highs in the low-50s.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the low-30s.
Thursday: Increasing clouds throughout the day, becoming cloudy by the afternoon. Slight chance of rain in the afternoon. Highs in the upper-50s.
First Alert Weather Day (Friday): Cloudy with widespread rain. Rain will be heavy at times. Chance of rain 90%. Highs in the mid-40s.
Saturday: Cloudy with showers around. Chance of rain 50%. Highs near 50 degrees.
Sunday: Showers possible in the morning with partial clearing for the afternoon. Chance of rain 40%. Highs around 50 degrees.
