The Scranton area near 10 degrees and Williamsport will both be near 10 degrees. Elevated areas in the Poconos may experience lows only a few degrees above 0.
An arctic front will bring the the colder temps. This front will also produce some snow showers and flurries, but we don’t expect much accumulating snow. Timing for any snow will be Thursday afternoon and evening.
The record for the date is 4 degrees (1926). The record for Williamsport is 8 degrees (1926). The average for the date is 28 degrees.
BE PREPARED:
Limit your time outside through the early morning period. When outside, make sure to cover extremities and put on multiple layers. Make sure your heat is on through the night and all space heaters are away from flammable objects. Check in on elderly members of the community.
When driving, be careful of roads that still may ice back over from Tuesday’s snow.
