Nearly 20,000 California Truck Drivers Lose Licenses in Federal Crackdown
Nearly 20,000 California truck drivers are off the road this week after the U.S. Department of Transportation revoked their commercial licenses, saying they were issued illegally.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that more than 17,000 non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) issued to people who work in California but live elsewhere have been pulled following a federal review.
“We discovered and reported this about a month ago; many of these non-domiciled CDLs that were given to foreigners were issued unlawfully,” Duffy said.
