Wednesday brings dry weather before a wet weekend | Montana Weather

MONTANA – Our Weather Alert for Montana has expired, bringing calmer radar conditions this evening. Tonight could become slippery again with wet roads freezing over the coming hours. Wednesday’s forecast indicates calmer weather with reduced radar and wind gust activity.

Tonight, temperatures are expected to drop to freezing conditions, reaching the teens and single digits. Overnight, high pressure is anticipated to enter the region, calming the radar. On Thursday, low pressure will return, bringing wet weather to the west that spreads to the rest of the state. This pattern is expected to linger through the weekend and into the start of next week.

For the Cats and Griz home games on Saturday at noon, forecasts suggest highs in the upper 30s to low 40s in the Missoula and Gallatin Valleys. Both areas have a chance for precipitation, with a higher likelihood in the Missoula Valley.

Temperatures tonight are expected to dip to the teens before returning to the low 30s tomorrow across the state.

Over the next seven days, Montana will experience wet weather this weekend combined with mild highs. This could result in precipitation entering as snow, mixed precipitation, or rain. Western Montana is expected to remain wet and mild over the weekend and into the start of the week, while central and eastern areas may see slightly drier conditions. The 8-14 day outlook suggests warmer and wetter than average conditions for mid-December.
